What We Do

Pooni Group Foundation (PGF) is a non-profit organization that supports stronger communities.  We lend our support to local charities, schools, and other non-profits – through fundraising, working with various boards, and connecting groups with levels of government.  Each member of the Pooni Group team works with a local non-profit, and PGF continues to grow its regional community impact.  Some of the initiatives we have been part of include: fundraising for village improvement projects in rural India; funding high school and post-secondary scholarships and awards; board involvement in BC-based charitable organizations; supporting cardiac care in our hospitals.

OUR WORK

Each initiative that Pooni Group Foundation is a part of has been selected with care for its drive to enhance and uplift the local community. Read more about each one below.

PAL Vancouver provides an innovative approach to social housing that is consistent with research on healthy aging. Their mission is to provide long-standing members of Metro Vancouver’s performing arts professions with affordable housing

in a vibrant and creative community setting. PAL is funded 100% by rental income and donations.

PGF and Vancouver Canucks Alumni Foundation have established eight scholarships dedicated to financially assisting students who are pursuing a post-secondary education. The criteria of these scholarships focus primarily on our belief in having access to a post-secondary education, leadership, community involvement  and the positive impact of amateur sports.

The St. John Ambulance  BC campaign prioritizes awareness and accessibility to AEDs, first aid supplies and naloxone through one-of-a-kind community defibrillator stands.

Our partnership assists with the promotion, acquisition and visibility

of these stands for when cardiac arrest or overdose strikes our community.

The Fernwood Neighbourhood Resource Group and Kolumbia Inn Daycare society are two fundraisers that specifically help young kids start their day right by providing a healthy and nutritious breakfast before the start of their school day. Providing a safe community at the start of each child's day means setting them for success to learn and grow.

Investing in a student's career means showing support at every stage in their journey. That is why we have collaborated with numerous academia and program scholarships all over BC to provide financial aid to students and families. Click to read more about the various scholarships we offer.

Helping fund the Fraser Street Banner project means reviving the rich history of banners along Fraser Street, from 33rd Ave to 17th Ave. Funding goes towards supplies, artists and community application fees to bring back what was once beloved staple among the Mountain View neighbourhood.
